Doorstep creeper on cam

A bizarre incident has left a West Kelowna resident wondering why a stranger was on his property.

Stewart Boswell and his wife were inside their West Kelowna Estates home watching television on Dec. 28 at about 7 p.m. when their home surveillance system recognized something on their front doorsteps. 

"A guy came up and had his flashlight and knew where the camera was, shone it on the camera and took pictures of it and blocked the camera from videoing him,” said Boswell.

The stranger lurked on the steps for a few seconds, taking photographs and using the flashlight to blind the cameras until Boswell approached him. 

“He took pictures of our front door and we have no idea why,” he said. 

Boswell ran after the man, but he was able to escape.

“I am kind of hoping that someone will recognize this guy,” said Boswell. “I didn’t know if they were casing it to break into later or if they wanted to steal a camera.”

The stranger didn’t steal anything and Boswell called police to report the incident.
