Tesla burned in garage

UPDATE 8:39 p.m.

Brent  Watson, Assistant Chief West Kelowna Fire Rescue tells Castanet the WKFR responded to a house fire on Sageview Road just after 7 a.m. Thursday morning.

"First arriving crews found the house unoccupied and quickly extinguished a fire in the basement and garage areas. The basement was severely damaged, as were the cars in the garage, which included a Tesla. There were no pets in the single-family residential home at the time of the fire."

Watson says one firefighter suffered minor injuries in the line of duty.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation,"but the preliminary cause and origin appears electrical in nature. The fire is not considered suspicious at this time, and it is not known if the owner has insurance," says Watson.
