UPDATE: 3:15 p.m.
Fire crews arrived on scene to find staff extinguishing a small fire in the back of the salon.
"It was an exhaust fan. It looks like there was a mechanical issue where the fan and the motor overheated," said Assistant Fire Chief Darren Lee.
Nobody was injured, and business in the salon was only halted for a few minuets.
