The City of West Kelowna has gone to tender on Phase 2 of the Boucherie Road Wine Trail.

The $8.7-million project includes upgrades from Stuart to Ogden roads.

Council, in a 4-2 vote, approved going to tender in December.

The tender was posted Feb. 2, and is slated to close Feb. 23 at 2 p.m.

The overall scope of the project includes road, utility, landscaping and streetscaping work.

  • 15,300 square metres of asphalt roadway
  • 1,200 lineal metres of storm main
  • 1,640 lineal metres of water main
  • 3,400 lineal metres of concrete curb and gutter
  • 4,100 square metres of concrete sidewalk
  • 80 ornamental street lights and wiring
  • Landscape trees and irrigation system
  • Retaining walls

The project was originally pegged at just over $6 million, however, the addition of a second roundabout and increased construction costs added another $2.5 million.

Roundabouts will be constructed at Hudson and Anders roads.
