Advance polls set to open

Advance voting is set to begin in the Kelowna West byelection.

Voters will go to the polls on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, to replace former MLA and premier Christy Clark, who resigned in August.

But there are several opportunities to vote early, starting Tuesday and continuing until Sunday.

Residents can vote at Grace Baptist Church on Glenmore Drive or the Kelowna Curling Club on Recreation Avenue in Kelowna, Powers Creek Comm Church on Glenway Road or the Super 8 West Kelowna Hotel on Westgate Road in West Kelowna, as well as George Pringle Elementary School on Sunday only.

To be eligible, voters must be: a resident of the electoral district, 18 or older on Feb. 14, 2018, a Canadian citizen, and a resident of B.C. for the past six months.

The hours for advance and general voting are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

Voters are reminded to bring their Where to Vote card and ID with them.
