A lost bear has been reunited with its nine-year-old owner after spending a few hours in a snowbank.
Kathleen Mackenzie and her grandchildren spotted the “sweet little bear” outside the Landmark Cinemas in West Kelowna on Saturday.
“My grandchildren were very upset that it was out in the snow,” she said.
They posted a photo of the lost bear to Facebook, hoping someone would recognize the bear, clad in a colourful dress.
No one claimed the bear, so the family brought it home, "gave it a bath" and kept it safe and sound.
A chance series of events ended up bringing Curly Shirley back home.
One of Mackenzie’s friends overheard a woman asking if anyone found a teddy bear in Westbank.
“She remembered my post on Facebook and got in touch with me,” said Mackenzie.
On Wednesday, the bear was reunited with its child owner, and the thankful family brought gifts to the grandkids who rescued the bear.
