Rose Valley fire out

UPDATE: 7:05 p.m.

Neighbours were able to hose down the small grass fire that broke out at about 6 p.m. on Monday.

Firefighters arrived on scene shortly after and helped to fully extinguish the fire.

A person living near the house closest to the fire said this is the second time this month that the grass has caught fire.

There is no word on what caused the blaze at this time.


UPDATE: 6:35 p.m.

A fire in Rose Valley is now out.

It was a small grass fire behind 1905 Rosealee Lane.

The fire appears to have been in grass clippings or wild grass near the edge of the property.


UPDATE: 6:20 p.m.

Two fire engines are at the scene of a small grass fire off Rosealee Lane in West Kelowna.

Castanet newshound Dave Ogilvie says firefighters appear to have it under control.

The fire is on a steep hillside near some homes, and residents are hosing down the hillside to be safe.

Firefighters are responding to a possible brush fire off Rosealee Lane, in the Rose Valley area of West Kelowna.
