Small fire dealt with

BC Wildfire crews were notified of a fire near Crystal Mountain Sunday night, and say it has since been declared out.

Fire crews were able to deal with the spot fire in the Jack Pine area right away.

The fire was measured at 0.01 hectares.

Its cause is unknown, but there are reports it may have been a campfire.

Fire information officer Justine Hunse said it is still appearing on the BC Wildfire Service live fire map, which is updated once daily.

The map shows the only other fire in the region is at Okanagan Centre, which is 75 per cent contained and is estimated at 50.3 hectares in size.

Open fires are restricted to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect the public.
