Water advisories lifted

The City of West Kelowna has lifted water quality advisories in place since the rapid rise of Okanagan Lake in early May.

Advisories have been lifted for water users on the Pritchard, Sunnyside and West Kelowna Estates systems after tests indicated turbidity levels had returned to below 1.0 NTU.

Pritchard, Sunnyside and West Kelowna Estates water systems testing have indicated the turbidity level has returned to below 1.0 NTU.

Advisories, affecting approximately 2,150 water customers in areas including Pritchard Drive, Sunnyside Road, Rose Valley, and West Kelowna Estates were put in place in May due to increased turbidity in water drawn from Okanagan Lake following spring runoff and flooding activity.

These unfiltered systems are treated with chlorination only.

A water quality advisory for Westbank First Nation residents living on Indian Reserve No. 9 remains in effect.
