Garage destroyed in fire

The fire at Pinewoods Villa has been put out, but one resident has lost their garage.

The garage, which was separate from the mobile home, was fully burnt in the blaze, but fire crews were able to get it under control before it spread to other structures. 

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

The garage of a home in Pinewoods Villa in West Kelowna caught fire Wednesday evening, sending a large cloud of black smoke into the sky.

The fire began at about 5:30 p.m. at a unit in the community on 1750 Lenz Road, just east of Bartley Road.

The fire spewed a thick cloud of black smoke high over the area.
