The Kelowna Rockets ran their home ice unbeaten streak to 28 games Friday night, beating the Vancouver Giants 3-2 in the final regular season home game for the Rockets.
With the win, and Kootenay's 3-2 win in Spokane, the Rockets need just a tie in their final game in Vancouver Saturday to clinch their 3rd straight overall league title.
Tyler Spurgeon scored twice, including what proved to be the winner 2 minutes into the final period. Spurgeon, who leads the Rockets in scoring, now has 20 goals on the year. Blake Comeau with a brilliant individual effort, scored the other goal for the Rockets.
