With just 3 games remaining in the Western Hockey League regular season, the Kelowna Rockets lead over second place Kootenay is down to 2 points.
The Ice cut the lead in half, scoring the final 3 goals in a 4-2 win in Calgary Sunday.
The win salvaged a less than stellar weekend for the Ice, who gained 4 of a possible 6 points, earing a win, a tie and an overtime loss in three games, while the Rockets were perfect in a pair of wins over Kamloops.
The Rockets lead the BC Division and overall league standing with 100 points. The Ice have 98. The Rockets 3 remaining games are at home to Prince George Wednesday and Vancouver Friday, before playing in Vancouver Saturday. The Ice will be in Tri Cities Wednesday before closing out the season with a home and home series with Spokane.
