The Kelowna Rockets beat the Red Deer Rebels 1-nothing at Prospera Place Friday night. Shea Weber got the winner for the Rockets in the third period and Derek Yeomans recorded his second shutout of the season before the sellout crowd of 6,275. The Rockets play the Cougars in Prince George Saturday night.
The B C Lions are preparing to host the Saskatchewan Roughriders Sunday in the CFL West Final. The Toronto Argonauts take on the Montreal Alouettes in the East Division Final Sunday evening.
Brittany Timko scored three goals to pace Canada to a convincing 7-0 triumph over host Thailand at the world women's under-19 soccer championship on Saturday. Timko of Coquitlam, B.C., now has five goals through two tournament games. Full Story
