Rockets Host Red Deer Tonight

    The Kelowna Rockets look for their third straight win against Red Deer when they host the Rebels, 7 pm at Prospera Place. The Rockets beat the Rebels 2-1 October 9th and 5-1 November 3rd, both games in Red Deer. The Rockets, 2nd in the BC Division, 2 points behind behind Kootenay, will travel to Prince George tomorrow and Kamloops Sunday.
  • A report released in the latest issue of Forbes Magazine suggests that the National Hockey League is losing money - but not nearly as much as the owners claim. Forbes states that the NHL lost $219 million US over the last two seasons, a stark contrast from the $497 million US that the league has reported.

  • Minnesota Twins pitcher Johan Santana was the unanimous winner of the American League Cy Young award. Santana won his last 13 decisions to finish the season at 20-6. He led the American League in strikeouts and earned run average. Curt Schilling of Boston finished 2nd for a record 3rd time.
  • The Rutland Voodoos take on Terry Fox High School in high school playoff football Saturday in Burnaby. Saturday's winner will advance to the semi-finals next weekend at BC Place Stadium. The Voodoos, who finished 2nd in the Okanagan Division, are making their first ever playoff appearance.
