Blazers send draft pick to Oil Kings in exchange for depth forward Van Olm

Blazers trade for forward

The Kamloops Blazers have acquired a depth forward from the Edmonton Oil Kings in exchange for a 2024 draft pick.

Shea Van Olm will head to the Tournament Capital in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick.

The 18-year-old from Calgary who stands six-feet and weighs 182 pounds has managed two goals and one helper in 16 games so far this season for the Oil Kings.

Last season, Van Olm tallied eight goals and six assists for 14 points in 49 games. He also added one assist in nine playoff games.

The addition of Van Olm brings the Blazers roster to 23 players — 13 forwards, eight defensemen and two goalies.

The Blazers (7-4-1-1) will host the Seattle Thunderbirds (10-3-0-0) on Wednesday night at Sandman Centre. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
