Rockets Up 3-0

The Kelowna Rockets have taken a commanding 3-0 lead in their best-of-seven Division Semi-Final series, beating the hometown Kootenay Ice 4-0 on Tuesday night. Randall Gelech led the Rockets offensively, potting 2 goals and adding an assist. Tyler Mosienko and Josh Gorges also scored for the Rockets. Kelly Guard, who established a Western Hockey League record with 13 regular season shutouts, stopped all 23 shots he faced, lowering his post-season goals against average to 1.33.

After looking sluggish in the first 40 minutes of game one, the Rockets have owned the Ice, outscoring Kootenay 12-1 over the last 7 periods. The Rockets can complete the series sweep in game 4 of the series Wednesday night in Cranbrook.
