Ernst stands tall in net as Blazers come back to beat Winterhawks

Blazers win again on road

Dylan Ernst made 43 saves on Friday afternoon in Portland as the Kamloops Blazers came from behind to beat the Winterhawks — the club's fifth straight win.

Matthew Seminoff, Caedan Bankier, Daylan Kuefler and Marko Stacha scored for the Blazers. Tyson Kozak, Marcus Nguyen and Kyle Chyzowski scored for Portland.

The win was Ernst’s third of the season in as many starts. Dante Gianuzzi stopped 30 of 34 Kamloops shots in the loss.

The victory moves the Blazers to 16-2-0-0 on the season, all alone atop the WHL’s B.C. Division. Portland falls to 7-10-2-1 with the loss.

The Blazers will get a good test on Saturday in Everett against the U.S. Division-leading Silvertips (16-0-0-1).
