Colton Dach has inked a three-year NHL entry contract

Dach signs NHL deal

It's been quite a week for Colton Dach.

First, the 18-year-old forward gets dealt to the Kelowna Rockets, then days later, he officially puts his signature on an NHL contract.

Dach, traded to the Rockets for 18-year-old centre Trevor Wong Tuesday, signed an NHL entry level contract Friday with the Chicago Blackhawks.

The three-year, $2.61 million contract, comes with a signing bonus of $92,500 over each of the three years.

Dach, taken in the second round of this year's NHL draft, had 22 goals and 49 points in 82 games over two seasons in Saskatoon.

While Dach remains in the Chicago camp, the remainder of his new teammates continue to prepare for the start of the regular season.

While the league schedule opens Friday, the Rockets don't kick off the new season until next weekend when they face the Victoria Royals in back-to-back games next Friday and Saturday.

They kick off the home portion of the schedule Friday, Oct. 15 against the Kamloops Blazers.
