Blazers blanked by Giants, handed first loss of 2021 WHL season

Blazers no longer perfect

Trent Miner was perfect in net on Monday night, backstopping the Vancouver Giants to a well-earned 4-0 win and handing the Kamloops Blazers their first loss of the season.

Zack Ostapchuk, Justin Sourdif, Justin Lies and Adam Hall scored for the Giants in an empty Sandman Centre.

Kamloops goaltender Dylan Garand stopped 24 of 28 shots, falling to 4-1 on the season.

The Blazers are also 4-1 and remain in a tie for top spot in the WHL’s B.C. Division alongside the Giants.

Kamloops will be back in action on Friday, taking on the Victoria Royals at Sandman Centre.
