Kelowna Rockets lost their 2nd in a row, falling 4-1 in Kamloops

Rockets fall in Kamloops

Former Kelowna Rocket Libor Zabransky came back to haunt his former team Friday, picking up a goal and an assist to lead the Kamloops Blazers past the Rockets 4-1.

Zabransky, who was released by the Rockets last season, was acquired by the Blazers Thursday from Moose Jaw.

Connor Zary found himself in the right place at the right time, scoring twice after both deflected off his skate and past goaltender Roman Basran.

Brodi Stuart also scored for the Blazers.

Matthew Wedman scored the lone goal for the Rockets. His goal made it 3-1 before the end of the second, however, the Rockets were unable to mount much of an attack in the third.

Kamloops outshot the Rockets 18-3 in the final frame.

The game marked the return of Nolan Foote to the Rockets lineup.

Foote had missed the previous 12 games while helping Canada to a gold medal at the World Junior championships.

The Rockets were 5-7 during the 12 games Foote missed.

The Rockets and Blazers will renew acquaintances Saturday when they teams meet again at Prospera Place.
