Kelowna Rockets and Victoria Royals renew pleasantries

Rockets renew Royal rivalry

It didn't take long for the Kelowna Rockets and Victoria Royals to renew acquaintances.

The bitter WHL rivals will faceoff tonight at Prospera Place just a week after a pair of hard fought games in the provincial capital.

The teams split those games, Victoria winning 4-3 in a shootout, before the Rockets came back for a 1-0 win the following night.

That game ended with Rockets captain Nolan Foote and Royals forward Kaid Oliver dropping the gloves.

"Our two games in Victoria last week were very heated," said Foote.

"We're ready to go ... we're looking forward to it, and I'm sure it's going to be heated again. It always is with a rival."

The Rockets come into the game tied with Kamloops atop the BC Division, both with 20 points. The Royals are fourth, seven points back.

Kelowna has won two in a row, the latest a 6-2 win over Prince George, while the Royals have dropped two straight. They were 6-3, losers at home to Medicine Hat Saturday.
