Kelowna Rockets fly south to meet the Seattle T-Birds tonight

The Kelowna Rockets look to get back into the win column tonight when they kick off a two-game weekend in Seattle.

The Rockets are coming off a split of weekend games in Prince George, falling 4-1 in the back half of the back-to-back.

Newly acquired defenceman Jake Lee says the Rockets need to execute better to have continued success.

He says they used the week of practice to focus on hard work.

"I think we could've executed a little better, that was a problem in our games, and it cost us the second game, unfortunately. In this league, no matter how good your team is or how good you're playing if you don't play the right way you're not going to get the results you want," said Lee.

"This week in practice, we really focused on execution, making sure that we're all dialled in and going 100 per cent. Come game time Friday and Saturday execution won't be a problem like it was last weekend."

It will be a special trip for Lee, Dillon Hamaliuk and Cole Scwebius, who all came to the Rockets from the T-Birds in a blockbuster deal during the bantam draft.

"I'm super excited to go back to Seattle for the first time, I'm pumped," said Lee

"I've always wondered what it would be like to get traded and play against my former team, and I'm going to get that chance (Friday) night. I know a lot of the guys there obviously, it's going to be interesting to face them for the first time," said Lee.

The Rockets will also get to see a familiar face in Connor Bruggen-Cate, who went the other way in that same deal.

Kelowna closes out the weekend Saturday when they return home to face the Kamloops Blazers.
