Rockets mauled by Cougars

The Kelowna Rockets had an off night at the CN Centre in Prince George., falling to the Cougars 4-1.

Erik Gardiner opened the scoring in the first, but that would be Kelowna's lone goal in the game.

The Cougars tied the game in the first and scored three goals in the middle frame, collecting goals from Austin Crossley, Josh Maser, and Joel Lakusta scored on the power play.

The Rockets registered five shots in the third but couldn't beat goaltender Taylor Gauthier as the Cougars took it 4-1.

The good news, Kelowna gets a chance at revenge tomorrow night at the CN Centre in Prince George at 7:00 p.m. before finishing the trip off in Everett on Friday.

Kelowna returns home again following their three-game trip on Saturday when they host Dan Lambert and the Spokane Chiefs at 7:05 p.m. at Prospera Place.
