Rockets defeat Calgary

The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Calgary Hitmen on Sunday afternoon. 

The score was 3-1 for Kelowna at the game held on Calgary ice. 

The Hitmen opened the scoring on a power play in the first period to lead the game. 

James Hilsendager evened things up to 1-1 on a Rockets power play at 16:32 in the second period.

In the third period, Marek Skvrne pulled Kelowna ahead by one. 

Conner Bruggen-Cate put one in the empty net with 15 seconds remaining to seal a 3-1 win for the Rockets

Roman Basran's record improves to 6-2-0-0 after stopping 21 of 22 shots he faced as the Rockets outshot the Hitmen 30-22.

Kelowna's record improves to 25-12-2-1.

The Rockets are back home again on Wednesday night when they play host to Dan Lambert and the Spokane Chiefs.

Kelowna will also honour gold medal champions Dillon Dube and Cal Foote on Wednesday night prior to puck drop at 7:05 p.m
