Deja Vu For Rockets

The Kelowna Rockets certaintly hope lightning strikes twice.

In their opening round series against the Kootenay Ice, you'll recall the Rockets fell behind two games to one, before reeling off three straight to take the series in six games.

History seems to be repeating itself.

The Everett Silvertips defeated the Kelowna Rockets 2-0 Tuesday night to take a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven Western Conference semi-final series.

Seventeen year old goaltender Leland Irving was the difference on this night, kicking out 41 shots as the Rockets buzzed around his crease all night long.

The Rockets had enough chnces to win two or three games, but were unable to beat the red hot Irving.

Kelowna went 0-7 on the power play.

Peter Mueller scored what proved to be the winner 13 minutes into the opening period.

Kelowna native Kyle Beach, playing just his second WHL playoff game, picked up an assist on the goal.

Ondrej Fiala put the game away, scoring in the opening minute of the final period.

The Rockets have just 24 hours to try and find a way to solve Irving.

The two teams meet Wednesday night in game four of the series.

The series then shifts back to Prospera Place for game five Friday night.
