They have a league best nine wins on the road---but at home, it's a different story.
The Kelowna Rockets record at Prospera Place fell to 3-4-1, as they fell 2-1 to the Calgary Hitmen on Friday night. The Hitmen have won five in a row, and lead the overall WHL standings.
Riley Merkley and Brett Carson, both on the power play scored for the Hitmen. Blake Comeau scored his 10th of the year for the Rockets with 1:56 left in regulation time.
Two late penalties just after Comeau's goal ended any hope of a Rockets comeback.
The Rockets outshot the Hitmen 32-31, but it was special teams that told the tale. The Hitmen were 2-8 on the power play, while the Rockets were scoreless in seven chances.
Rockets look to get back in the win column Saturday night, when they play in Kamloops.
The loss, combined with Prince George's shootout loss to Kootenay, leaves the Rockets and Cougars tied atop the BC Division standings, both with 25 points, two better than the Kootenay Ice.
