Rockets Continue To Roll

Make it four in a row on their current six game road trip and six straight overall.

The latest victims---the Saskatoon Blades, who fell 6-3 to the visiting Kelowna Rockets Tuesday night.

The Rockets overcame a 2-1 second period defecit, scoring five straight goals, including two goals by Troy Ofukany in a span of 13 seconds during the final minute of the second period to grab a commanding 5-2 lead.

In case you are wondering, the WHL record for fastest two goals by one player is five seconds, held by four different players.

Fifteen year old rookie defenseman Luke Schenn scored his first career WHL goal during the five goal outburst, along with Blake Comeau and Troy Bodie with his team leading sixth of the season. Liam Couture scored the other goal, his first in a Rockets uniform.

Kris Westblom picked up the victory, turning aside 24 shots, as the Rockets outshot the Blades 48-27.

The Rockets, with the third best power play in the league hit on 1-6 opportunities, while the Blades were 1-4.

The Rockets play their third game in as many nights Wednesday, when they face off against the Moose Jaw Warriors. The six game marathon comes to an end Friday in Prince Albert.
