Rockets Win Third Straight

The Kelowna Rockets made it harder than it needed to be, as they kicked off their gruelling six game, eight day prairie road swing with a 6-4 win in Regina.

The Rockets jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead, before needing a late empty net goal from Troy Ofukany, his second of the night, to seal the two goal victory.

The Rockets jumped out quickly, getting goals from Blake Comeau and Ofukany in the first and a pair from defenseman Mike Card early in the second. The Pats cut the lead in half before the end of the middle frame and drew to within a goal five minutes into the third when Petr Kalus scored his sixth of the year.

Justin Keller's fourth three minutes later restored the two goal cushion. Kalus brought the Pats back to within a goal 20 seconds later before Ofukany put the game out of reach in the dying seconds.

Derek Yeomans kicked out 32 of 36 shots to record his fourth win of the season.

The Rockets were 3-5 on the power play, the Pats were 1-3 with the man advantage.

The Rockets, who have now won three in a row continue their road trip Saturday night in Brandon in a re-match of last seasons league final.
