Vernon Winter Carnival awards Okanagan Spring Brewery for longtime support

Carnival cheers OK Spring

A familiar local company has been awarded with Vernon Winter Carnival's Jessie Ferguson Memorial Trophy.

The award is presented to a person or a group in the community that has shown years of dedication to carnival by supporting events or volunteering.

Carnival executive director Vicki Proulx says this year's recipient, Okanagan Spring Brewery, has been dedicated not only to volunteering with, but also to community.

Okanagan Spring has been "a supporter and sponsor of Vernon Winter Carnival since 1986. They have participated in carnival with floats in the parade, sponsored and taken part in various events including the Balloon Fiesta, and have been a longtime supporter of the volunteer appreciation reception," Proulx said.

The award was presented to brewmaster Stefan Tobler.

"Their support year after year has been immeasurable," says Proulx.

"And, to be honest, they're always the life of the party! Not only do they continue to raise the bar with what it means to be a community-minded business, but they are the best at raising a glass to community and carnival spirit!"
