Vernon Winter Carnival took over the city over the weekend to kick off 10 days of fun and activities.

Large turnouts were reported for events ranging from Friday evening's ballon glow to Saturday's parade and more.

Events continue at venues across the city until Feb. 12 in the 63rd annual winter celebration.

Businesses all over town have embraced the Carnival TV theme, with Valley First Credit union earning kudos fpr its depiction of Moe's Tavern from The Simpsons.

The Elks Club's Flintstones-themed parade float was a crowd favourite, as was RichTea's Stranger Things float.

Sip n Savour and the Predator Ridge Parka Party were also well attended.
