Vernon is looking for a new deputy fire chief.
The city is looking to fill the role effective July 1, with a closing date on the job posting of Feb. 27.
The senior administrative and supervisory position is accountable for overseeing the city's emergency program, including delivery of emergency support services and the department's auxiliary recruitment, orientation, and basic training program.
The deputy chief would also oversee the maintenance and function of the Emergency Operations Centre and ESS training centre.
The deputy chief would also assume a leadership role during emergency mitigation, preparation, activations, and recovery.
The role is the first point of contact with the Vernon Volunteer Fire Fighters Association, and the deputy chief may also act as a designated spokesperson for the department.
