Vernon Canadian Tire brings back curbside pickup in wake of fire closure

Back with curbside after fire

Vernon's Canadian Tire store has taken another step closer to resuming full service.

In a Facebook post on Friday, store management say customers will again be able to use curbside pickup for online purchases at the local store, starting Monday.

The Village Green Centre anchor tenant was closed when the front of the building was damaged by a suspicious fire in November.

“While inventory in some departments may be limited, we will continue to add items daily,” the store says.

The Auto Service Centre reopened Dec. 5.

“We are working hard to reopen in-store shopping as soon as possible to serve the community of Vernon,” management wrote in the latest post.

Restoration crews have been on site since the Nov. 19 fire. The store is expected to reopen in February.

RCMP continue to investigate the fire.
