Ridesharing company Uride expanding to Vernon after Kelowna, Kamloops success

Uride coming to Vernon

Ridesharing is coming to Vernon.

Following successful launches in Kelowna, Kamloops, Prince George and Nanaimo, Canadian ridesharing company Uride will launch in Vernon on Jan. 27.

Uride says starting at 3 p.m. that day, Vernon residents will be able to use the company's app to book rides across the city.

The company started recruiting drivers early this year, offering incentives of $1,500 weekly guarantees for
full-time drivers and $500 sign-on bonuses for those joining part-time.

"The people of Vernon have been asking for a safe, reliable and affordable transportation option for a long, long time. With the massive success we’ve had in two bordering cities, Kelowna and Kamloops, we couldn’t be more excited to get our operations in Vernon up and running," says Ravi Dhami, Western
Canada operations manager.

"We have a team of dedicated drivers looking forward to getting on the road and ensuring the days of long wait times are a thing of the past."

As part of the launch, users will receive discount offers towards their first rides.

The Uride app can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play Store.
