Thinking about becoming a cop?
Vernon RCMP are calling interested Grade 11 and 12 students to take part in the annual Jean Minguy Memorial RCMP Youth Academy.
The six-day event takes place May 7-13 at the Vernon Army Camp.
Applications are now being accepted, and interested students can pick up packages through their school career counsellor.
The camp offers a "fully immersive depot-like experience where students will train, live, learn, eat, and overnight together as they navigate simulated police scenarios, complete daily physical training, learn foot drills, and receive basic instruction in police tactics, use of force, law, community policing principles and related academics," say Vernon RCMP.
The deadline for applications is Jan. 31.
