Kal Rotary open to grant applications from non-profits; Dream Auction raises $155,000

Dream Auction a success

Over $155,000 in grant money is up for grabs, thanks to the success of the 38th annual Kalamalka Rotary Dream Auction.

“The success of the Dream Auction results from the generosity of local business and individuals who donate items, experiences or services, our sponsors and to those who bid on these items,” says Tom Christensen, Kal Rotary president for 2022-23.

The bidding for items is now closed.

If you missed the auction and would still like to donate to help support local and international non-profits, "it’s not too late" according to Dream Auction chair, Brian Reid.

“The Kalamalka Rotary auction site is still accepting cash donations until December.”

Christensen attributes the success of the Dream Auction to “the generosity of local businesses and individuals who donate items, experiences or services, our sponsors and to those who bid on these items.”

He adds “donations were especially appreciated this year, as the economy is slowing, and some businesses are struggling.”

Over the past 38 years, Kal Rotary has donated almost five million dollars to local and international charities.

Community groups are being encouraged to apply for grant money until the end of December. Full details are available on Kal Rotary’s website, under Dream Auction, funding request.
