New Vernon council to be sworn in at Nov. 7 ceremony

Vernon's new city council will be sworn in Nov. 7.

The inaugural meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at City Hall and is open to the public.

The meeting will also be livestreamed on the city’s website at www.vernon.ca/council-video.

The first regular meeting for the new council will be held Nov. 14, at 1:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, final numbers from Saturday's election have confirmed preliminary results reported on election night.

Victor Cumming is returned to a second term as mayor, with the elected councillors being Kelly Fehr, Kari Gares, Teresa Durning, Akbal Mund, Brian Guy, and Brian Quiring.

Guy is the lone newcomer.
