A venerable Vernon recreation facility is up for sale.
Lincoln Lanes bowling centre on 25th Avenue is listed for $1,995,000.
The facility has operated since 1950 and sits on a 1.18-acre parcel on busy 25th Avenue.
The building itself is 10,400 square feet in size and contains 14 five-pin bowling lanes.
However, bowling may not be in the site's future.
It's zoned for row housing and is described as a "prime development property."
"Fully operational, successful and profitable bowling centre on 1.18 acres of prime development property in Vernon BC. Family run business for 50 years and now time to retire," the listing says.
The sale price includes the land, building and business.
The listing calls it a "terrific opportunity" to continue the business, and lease the bowling centre for the short term while making redevelopment plans, "or remove the building and develop sooner than later."
"It would be a shame for Vernon to lose this iconic and long-standing community-use property," the listing continues, but the land and redevelopment values now make it worth "not much more than land value."
