Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery set to announce Laird of Fintry lottery winners

Laird lottery draw nears

One of the Okanagan's most sought after beverages will soon be in the hands of some lucky whisky lovers.

Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery will announce winners of its 10th Anniversary Edition Laird of Fintry single-malt whisky lottery on Tuesday.

The annual lottery for a chance to buy the limited edition spirits is thought to be Canada’s largest, free-to-enter premium whisky lottery.

Each year, thousands of people enter, with the winners getting first dibs on a bottle of the three-time World Spirits Awards gold medal winning whisky.

“This year is going to be extra special as 2022 marks the 10th anniversary of Laird of Fintry releases,” says CEO Tyler Dyck.

“Ten years ago, when we released Western Canada’s first authentic single-malt whisky, we couldn’t have imagined how coveted these bottles would become, and we are seeing excitement skyrocket with entry numbers that are already surpassing 32,000 entrants.”

The Laird of Fintry's awards include gold at the 2015, 2017, and 2020 World Spirits Awards, while Okanagan Spirits also recently took home Artisan Distillery of the Year honours at the Canadian Whisky Awards.

This year, winners will also be given the opportunity to get their hands on a bottle of Black Label cask-strength Laird of Fintry, a limited-edition not officially being released to the public until the end of October.

As well, for the first time, the distillery is also releasing a small number of mini 30-litre triple-wood versions of the Laird of Fintry casks, which are available for bottling under private labelling.

“For our family ... the Laird lottery is not just about creating a fun annual event, but it is also is a hat tip towards the renaissance and rebirth of authentic farm-to-bottle distilling practices in B.C.,” says Dyck.
