List of Vernon and area candidates finalized, time to start campaigning

Campaigning has started for the Oct. 15 municipal election.

The list of candidates for the 2022 municipal elections has been finalized, so let the campaigning begin.

The deadline for potential candidates to withdraw was 4 p.m. Friday and a few candidates decided to bow out from the Oct. 15 election.

Coldstream incumbent councillor Richard Enns decided to withdraw from the race as did Armstrong hopeful Lyle Williamson.

Former regional district board member Herman Halvorson, who announced he would run for mayor of Enderby, has also dropped out of his race.

Election BC rules state campaigning can now officially begin so residents can expect to see numerous signs, posters and other forms of candidate advertising for those seeking public office.
