Recreational vehicle destroyed by fire at North Westside campground

A recreational vehicle went up in flames overnight at a campsite on the North Westside of Okanagan Lake.

North Westside Fire Rescue was called to the Evely Campground between Killiney Beach and Parker Cove just after 1:30 a.m. for reports of a grass fire.

The fire department says the fire ended up being an RV that was fully engulfed in flames.

Crews knocked the fire down, but it also spread into surrounding brush in the campground.

Minor injuries to the RV owners were treated by BC Ambulance paramedics.

NWFR responded with 14 members and five apparatus.
