Vernon's Okanagan Military Tattoo is only a month away

Pomp and circumstance

The seventh annual Okanagan Military Tattoo is a month away.

The event at Vernon's Kal Tire Place will feature more than 400 performers including First Nations, massed pipes and drums, highland dancers, military and civilian bands, cultural troops, precision drills, singers and the poignant refrain of the Lone Piper against the stunning backdrop of 'The Castle.'

The tattoo is Vernon's largest annual indoor event and Western Canada's only military tattoo.

While organizers are still awaiting formal confirmation from some performers, plans for the 2022 OMT include the 35-member Naden Band of the Royal Canadian Navy and the Pipes & Drums of the Canadian Scottish Regiment.

The Langley Ukelele Ensemble will wow the audience as will the Okanagan Tattoo Dancers.

The annual Tribute to the Veterans segment of the program will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Dieppe Raid.

Tickets are now on sale by calling 250-549-7469, or online.

Tickets start at $45 and one free youth ticket for ages 18 and under is being offered with each adult or seniors ticket purchased.

Chamber members save a further 10% by showing their M2M card.

Special ticket pricing is available for seniors, veterans and groups of 10 people or more.

Second World War and Korean War Veterans are invited to attend free of charge together with their partner or caregiver.

All seating is reserved and the shows are indoors with air conditioning.
