Vernon's newest watering hole is officially open.
The 1516 Pub & Grill held a soft opening on Sunday.
"Our friends and family soft opening was a huge success, thank you to all that came out and had a wonderful time," management posted on the pub's Facebook page.
The 1516 is located on the Okanagan Lake waterfront in Okanagan Landing, where the former Outboard Waterfront Pub and Blue Heron Pub previously operated.
It's operated by the Dahl Group of Companies, which also owns The Italian Kitchen Company, Vernon Catering and Hospitality, and Top Choice Pizza.
The 1516 takes its name from local brewery Okanagan Spring's 1516 lager. It, in turn, takes its name from the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516, which stipulated that only water, barley and hops be used in the brewing of beer.
