Murder charges have been filed in the death of a man on Okanagan Indian Band land.
Peter Michael Visintainer, 60, has been charged with the second-degree murder of Wolf-Ingo Rudolf Beyer.
Beyer's body was found on 6 Mile Creek Road near Vernon on May 29.
Visintainer was charged on June 2 and remains in custody while awaiting his next court appearance.
The Southeast District Major Crime Unit continues to investigate the homicide.
Police have released images of Beyer's vehicle. Its whereabouts following the homicide is of interest to the investigation.
“Investigators are working to determine the whereabouts of the truck from approximately 5 p.m. on May 29, until approximately 10:15 a.m. on May 30, 2022,” says Insp. The truck is a white 2000 two-door, one-ton Chevrolet flat-deck pickup with large, aftermarket mirrors, and distinctive mudflaps with ‘WOLF’ printed on them.
“The vehicle is believed to have been in the West Kelowna, Kelowna, Armstrong, Enderby and Vernon areas,” says Novakoski.
Anyone who may have encountered the truck, or who has dashcam video of it between 5 p.m. on May 29 and 10:15 a.m. May 30, is asked to call the SED MCU at 1-877-987-8477.
