Coldstream Station at north end of Okanagan Rail Trail will have up to 100 parkings spots, bathrooms and more

Coldstream Station coming

There will soon be more amenities at the northern end of the Okanagan Rail Trail.

Work is well underway at Coldstream Station, which is expected to open this summer.

Trevor Seibel, with the District of Coldstream, says the hub will have between 80 and 100 parking spots, public washrooms, way finding signage, areas for mobile vendors and other features.

“The district acquired the property several years ago,” Seibel says.

“Infrastructure to support the rail trail is important, and obviously parking is a big part of that, so we have been working to identify solutions to improve and enhance where we can and this particular project is going to help provide a significant amount of parking.”

Coldstream has invested $1.6 million into the project, which is expected to be open the first week of July.

“We should have it open for most of the summer,” says Seibel.
