Vernon's KingFisher Boats and parent Bryton Marine among Canada’s Best Managed

Vernon's KingFisher golden

Vernon's KingFisher Boats and parent company Bryton Marine Group have again achieved gold standard status in the Canada’s Best Managed companies program.

The family-owned group of companies was recognized for the second time.

Founded in 1992, Bryton is the largest privately owned welded aluminum boat builder in North America.

It also operates EagleCraft in Campbell River, and in Washington state it has All American Marine in Bellingham, BRIX Marine in Port Angeles, Weldcraft Marine and Duckworth Boats, both in Clarkston.

The businesses operate independently while sharing best practices, strategic initiatives and identifying market trends which drive innovation within each diverse market segment, the company says.

“Our group of companies work collaboratively to seize opportunities and embrace innovation,” says CEO Byron Bolton. “The recreational marine industry has experienced a record surge in demand. Thanks to our teams’ boundless culture and commitment to our values, we have been able to rise to meet consumer expectations.”

Now in its 29th year, Canada’s Best Managed Companies recognizes innovative, world-class business practices judged under a rigorous and independent process.

“The 2022 Best Managed winners exemplify innovation, adaptability, and resilience in the face of uncertainty,” says Lorrie King of Deloitte, a co-leader of the program. “Over the past year, these forward-forging companies have pivoted to successfully respond to challenges and capitalize on new opportunities, leveraging industry-leading competencies to maximize their investments and drive sustainable growth.”

KingFisher recently announced a 20,000 square foot expansion to its Vernon production plant.

Bryton has a staff of 415 employees, with the No. 1 market share for welded aluminum boats in North America.
