Vernon woman vying to be fitness covergirl in battle for first place

A Vernon woman vying to be a fitness magazine covergirl is battling it out for first place.

Fara Coombs is in the running to become a covergirl for Ms Health & Fitness magazine and is bouncing between first and second place in online voting.

“It's going to be a close call,” Coombs said. “Every vote counts.”

Voting wraps up at 7 p.m. Thursday, with the finalists going on to the next round of competition.

Coombs, who calls herself "an all-natural born and raised Okanagan girl who has a positive attitude with positive vibes," sent in photos of herself on vacation in tropical locations and catching some rays at Kal Beach in Coldstream.

Coombs says she doesn't go to the gym to work out, but prefers to do "rollerblading and outside stuff. My own kind of exercise."

"Fitness keeps me balanced, keeps me positive and keeps me moving," she says. "Your health is all you have, so take it seriously – we only get one chance at it.”
