Vernon's Little Italy Market & Deli closing the doors this month

Little Italy says ciao

Vernon's Little Italy Market and Deli is closing its doors.

The Sacco family made the announcement on Facebook that the popular eatery is coming to an end.

“It is with great sadness that I make this announcement,” a May 2 post on the deli's Facebook page stated.

“Little Italy Market & Deli would like to announce that we have decided to close our doors permanently in May 2022.”

The 35th Avenue deli will remain open Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., until stock and supplies run out.

All equipment will be priced and open to reasonable bids.

“Our heavy hearts need time to rest and heal after the loss of our beloved father. It has been a rollercoaster of emotions these past three years with the retirement of Tita's Italian Bistro in December of 2019, the sudden diagnosis of our father's cancer directly following his retirement in January 2020, the sale of our Tita's building in December of 2021, the passing of our father on April 20, 2022, and now the closure of our Little Italian Market & Deli May 2022,” the post said.

“We would like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the wonderful years and through our difficult years. It was a pleasure to have you by our side.”
