Vernon SilverStar Quilters put together Autumn sale

Quilters put on show, sale

The Vernon SilverStar Quilters Guild is inviting people to join them for their Autumn Sale of Quilts and Quilted Goods later this month.

The group of quilters has been in the community for 35 years and they meet for fellowship, workshops and charitable work.

Last year, VSSQ donated over 150 quilts to various causes in the community.

This year they are offering their first Autumn sale at the Halina Centre on Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The group holds a quilt show every three years and the next one is set for Sept. 2022.

“Think birthday, anniversary, just because, baby, cuddle up or Christmas gift,” says the group.

Members have been busy creating to pass time during the pandemic, they say.

A variety of quilts in different sizes and styles will be available for purchase as well as numerous fabrics that have three layers sewn together.

Admission is by donation with net proceeds to charity.

The Halina Centre anticipates having their cantina open for refreshments. COVID-19 protocols will be in place.
