10 Vernon restaurants compete in NOCLS fundraising burger challenge

Vying for 'Golden Burger'

Ten Vernon restaurants will compete for the title of best burger in the North Okanagan.

The winner will receive the "Golden Burger" trophy in the North Okanagan Community Life Society fundraising event.

The competition runs Oct. 11-24, and participating restaurants include The Roster Sports Club, Alexander's Beach Pub, Marten Brewing, Diner on Six, Bourbon Street Grill, Mr. Mikes, The Longhorn, Brown's Socialhouse, Eatology, and The Kal.

"Although this is a fundraiser for NOCLS, we are striving to involve the community in this fun event to support our local sponsors, and drive local and tourist traffic back to our amazing local establishment after a few very tough years," the society says.

A portion of proceeds ($5) from every burger sold will go to the NOCLS, which facilitates services for families and individuals with disabilities who wish to live and work in the community independently.

You can devour as many competing burgers as your appetite can handle, and vote for your favourite.

Scan the QR code at participating restaurants and follow the steps to rate the burger

Plus, each time you vote, you qualify for one of three prizes donated by City Furniture, Olive Us, and Cottons Chocolates.
