RCMP helicopter scours North Okanagan for blue Kia involved in incident near Enderby

After a public plea for information and the use of the RCMP helicopter, police said they have located a vehicle wanted in connection with an incident near Enderby.

“The blue, 2008 Kia Sportage has been located by police,” said Vernon RCMP Const. Chris Terleski.

Police did not elaborate on why such an extensive police operation was conducted to find the vehicle or what prompted the search.

An RCMP helicopter is searching the North Okanagan for a vehicle involved in an incident in the Enderby-Spallumcheen area.

Police are asking the public to keep an eye out for a blue 2008 Kia Sportage involved in the "ongoing incident."

Police responded to a report of a suspicious occurrence on Back Enderby Road in Spallumcheen about 11:30 a.m. However, the vehicle had fled the scene by the time officers arrived.

"We are actively looking for the vehicle involved in this incident," says Const. Chris Terleski. "Additional resources, including an RCMP helicopter, are in the area attempting to locate the outstanding vehicle. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances around this incident and are seeking the public's assistance in locating the vehicle."

The vehicle has B.C. licence plate KL087K.

"If you see this vehicle, do not approach it, and call police immediately," says Terleski.

No other information was released on the nature of the incident.
